Dana Marsh is an instructor and learning designer currently contracted with NAIT. They hold an MBA and a B.Sc in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta, and also studied at Thompson Rivers University (then the University College of the Cariboo) and Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (the Vienna University of Economics and Business).
Currently located in Edmonton, Alberta, they are available for both virtual and in-person speaking engagements.
Topics
As a feminine-presenting, nonbinary, and neurodivergent person, Dana is dedicated to improving inclusion within technical spaces. Dana’s areas of expertise include:
- “Lunch and learn” sessions for learning gender terminology, understanding the importance of pronouns, and adjusting language to be inclusive of trans and nonbinary identities.
- Facilitating or participating in conversations around gender and inclusion in the workplace.
- Technical talks on inclusive design practices for software developers, database designers, data analysts, and business intelligence professionals.
- “Lunch and learn” sessions for educators seeking to improve accessibility and inclusion within their classrooms, with a focus on language & accommodations.
